The OrganisationHavelock Housing has been operating for over 70 years and now provides safe and secure housing to over 450 people from disadvantaged and vulnerable groups in the Canberra area. They are the largest provider of Disability Housing in the ACT, operating essential 24 hour care packages to enable independent living and housing choices to people living with disability. Their portfolio of properties includes the heritage listed Havelock House. which is now home to 100 people at any one time, and is of huge cultural importance to the area. Demand for Havelock's services is huge, with supply unable to keep up with demand. The Havelock board has established a growth strategy to address this issue, with organic growth through development and program expansion identified for the coming years. The RoleThe Head of Housing and Communities' main focus is on delivering outcomes for Havelock clients and the wider community in which HHA operates. Operational excellence of the services that HHA delivers is to be ensured, identifying any areas for improvement and designing changes to address them. Community consultation and engagement are key, ensuring that everyone's voice in the HHA community can be heard. The services that are on offer must deliver real outcomes with clients at their heart of every decision they make, whilst operating in line with legislative requirements. The Head of Housing and Communities leads on the safe and effective delivery of tenancy management services, driving accountability and efficiency throughout the team.The Ideal CandidateExperience in managing a large portfolio of residential tenancies is essential, ideally within a NFP social or community housing setting. You must hold a relevant tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as social housing, community services or NFP leadership. Experience within the NFP sector is essential, as is a genuine dedication to drive for change and deliver outcomes to those in need.
