Our client, AbSec - NSW Child, Family, and Community Peak Aboriginal Corporation is the leading Aboriginal organisation in NSW advocating for child and family welfare. The team's mission is to ensure Aboriginal children and young people thrive in safe, culturally rich environments, with strong connections to their identity and community.
As a not-for-profit organisation governed by an all-Aboriginal board, AbSec provides policy advice, supports community-controlled organisations, and operates a Registered Training Organisation.
The Role
Absec is seeking a highly organised and professional Executive Assistant to provide high-level administrative support to the CEO. This role will play a pivotal role in managing internal processes, ensuring operational efficiency, and fostering positive relationships between the CEO, Board, Executive Team, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex scheduling, calendar management, and information flow for the CEO.
- Provide high-quality administrative support, including note-taking, report writing, and correspondence.
- Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and ensure follow-up on actions.
- Liaise with the travel manager to organise travel and logistics for the CEO and Board.
- Provide secretariat support for Board meetings and committees.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions and materials.
Ideal Candidate
The team are looking for someone with:
- At least 4 years’ experience in an administrative role supporting senior management.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to liaise across diverse stakeholders.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, and other productivity tools.
- An ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment on sensitive issues.
- An understanding of Aboriginal cultures and communities, with the ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders.
Desirable Qualities
- Relevant qualifications in Business Administration.
- Familiarity with the importance of cultural connections for Aboriginal children and families.
Selection Criteria
- This is an identified role under Section 14
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to facilitate outcomes across stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain high-quality outputs.
- Experience preparing materials for Board-level discussions.
- Demonstrated commitment to adaptability and achieving results in challenging situations.
Additional Information
- Employment is subject to a National Police Clearance and NSW Working With Children Check.
- A NSW Driver’s License is desirable.
