Administration Support Officer

Birribee Housing (Birribee), is a community-driven organisation committed to providing safe, secure, and culturally appropriate housing for Aboriginal people to practice self-determination and meet their social, cultural and economic needs. Birribee have been awarded funding from the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) to co-design and deliver a Specialist Homelessness Service (SHS) to meet the housing and homelessness needs of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population in the Western Sydney region. The primary objective of this SHS funded services is to ensure people who are experiencing homelessness, or who are at risk of homelessness, are supported to achieve safe and stable housing in the community.The team at Birribee are looking for an Administration Support Officer to join this passionate team. The Administration Support Officer plays a crucial role in providing efficient and effective administration support to the Specialist Homelessness Service (SHS) team. Working within a community-driven organisation committed to providing safe, secure, and culturally appropriate housing for Aboriginal people, the Administration Support Officer contributes to the smooth operation of the SHS by assisting with day-to-day administrative tasks and ensuring the seamless delivery of services to clients.Key responsibilities:Provide day-to-day administrative support to the teamAdministration support of the intake process for new clientsCoordinate appointments and meetings for the team, clients & external stakeholdersPrepare, format and distribute internal documents, reports and correspondenceGeneral database maintenance ensuring accurate recordsAssist with organising events, workshops and trainings for the SHS programEssential CriteriaStrong administrative skillsExcellent organisational skills with ability to meet multiple deadlinesStrong verbal and written communication skillsEnsuring to maintain confidentiality at all timesProven ability to work collaboratively as part of a teamDesired criteriaIt is highly desirable that the successful candidate for this role identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.Experience with the community and / or strong knowledge of Aboriginal cultureExperience using database management systemsTo be successful in this role, you must have your drivers licence, be willing to undergo a police check and obtain a Working with Children Check.
