The CEO will be responsible for the overall financial and operational performance of the organisation, ensuring alignment with the team’s strategic direction. You will work closely with the Board of Directors to set and achieve ambitious goals for the long-term sustainability of Metro, while fostering a high-performing and engaged culture.About You:You are a seasoned leader with a track record of success in the not-for-profit, community housing or an aligned sector, as well as having experience working around the complexities of a small organisation. You possess strong financial acumen, strategic thinking, and a deep commitment to social responsibility. Your leadership style is one of integrity, respect, and inclusion, and you are someone who excels at building and motivating high-performing teams.You have emotional intelligence with demonstrated experience managing staff and an organisation through change. You have familiarity with the property market and are passionate about making a positive impact and ready to take Metro Housing to new heights.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Planning & Execution: Collaborate with the Board to review and implement strategic plans, establish targets, identify opportunities and ensure effective financial forecasting.Financial Management: Oversee the development and monitoring of annual budgets and financial targets. Ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements and manage income and expenditure to achieve operational surpluses.Governance & Reporting: Ensure Metro Housing meets all legislative, regulatory, and fiduciary responsibilities. Oversee the timely submission of documents to relevant bodies.People & Culture: Mentor and develop management capabilities, embedding performance metrics and accountability throughout the organisation. Lead recruitment for managerial roles, ensuring candidates align with the team’s organisational culture and objectives.Workplace Health & Safety: Champion a proactive approach to workplace health and safety, ensuring all staff are informed and compliant with safety procedures. Qualifications:Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a not-for-profit, community housing, or related sector.Strong financial management skills, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a Board of Directors and lead strategic planning initiatives.Proven experience liaising with high levels of government - experience and awareness across tenders / writing scopes.Experience in managing people, fostering a positive culture, and driving performance.A deep understanding of legislative, regulatory, and fiduciary responsibilities in the community housing sector.Commitment to workplace health and safety. Why Join Metro Housing?
