Client Care Specialist (Intake and Assessment)

Our client, Haven Home Safe (HHS) are a registered community and affordable housing provider delivering housing and homelessness services across Victoria. The team provide a range of housing solutions and wrap-around supports to help people find and keep a place they can call home. As a for-purpose organisation, Haven Home Safe (HHS) are committed to bridging the housing divide and creating more inclusive, caring communities. This collaborative and hard working team is now seeking a dedicated Client Care Specialist (Intake and Assessment Officer) to join the team in their Mildura office in Victoria. You will play a crucial role in assisting families and individuals who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless through the initial assessment and planning of obtaining appropriate accommodation. As one of the first points of contact, your customer centric focus and helpful nature with ensure a positive, welcoming, and friendly interaction to these clients.Some Key Responsibilities Include:Undertake crisis intervention and assessment of customers both face to face and over the phone.Implement client strength and solutions-based interventions within appropriate assessments, planning and review procedures.Provide advice in relation to a range of supports offered within the community.Respond to intake emails and enquiries, undertake an assessment on clients, and provide an interim response and support to clients awaiting case management.Accurately and professionally record customer details, assistance (including brokerage) provided in the Client Management System and other applicable data systems.Participate in collaborative arrangements within the homelessness service sector. Your strong communication skills, empathetic nature, and fantastic interpersonal and negotiation skills will ensure success in this role.You will have a sensitivity to cultural awareness and needs of clients, and an ability to work with limited direction. This is a multi-skilled team environment, with all team members striving to delivery a high quality of customer service to some of the most vulnerable people in the community. Some other Qualifications:A formal qualification in related disciplines such as Social Work, Welfare, Social Sciences or other relevant qualifications (highly desirable) or significant experience in a similar position.Demonstrated experience in a dynamic social service setting servicing clients and/or experience working with homeless individuals and families or people experiencing housing crisis.Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.).Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management databases. Haven Home Safe requires all its staff, volunteers, directors and contractors to have had their first two vaccine doses for COVID-19, recognising the important role this plays in our ability to continue to support the communities we serve and to keep all of us safe.Haven Home Safe (HHS) is committed to building an inclusive workplace where all people feel valued, are empowered to bring their complete, authentic selves to work, and have equal access to opportunities to help them reach their full potential.
