The OrganisationOur client is the peak Aboriginal organisation in the NSW child and family welfare sector.  They an Aboriginal community controlled organisation, a not for profit and are leaders in working with their members to drive down the over representation of Aboriginal children in out of home care.The RoleThe Manager, Communications and Memberships is responsible for driving the growth and retention of AbSec’s membership and overseeing the strategic communications and events of AbSec and AbSec LDC. The role will undertake membership and communication strategy development, support media engagement, and work to promote AbSec’s public profile that aligns with agreed plans and priorities. They will lead a team of two support staff - Membership and Events Officer and Communications Coordinator.The PersonYou must have completed or working towards completing relevant tertiary qualifications in communication, marketing or other relevant discipline and have a minimum of 3 years experience working in marketing and/or communication, preferably in a membership based organisation.You will be able to demonstrate how you have increased customer engagement or grown customer/membership through a fully integrated media and communication strategy that drives brand awareness and confidence.Your work will support philanthropic and fundraising initiatives and promote the policy and program work delivered by this organisation.You will be a consultative leader that thrives on developing your team, providing authentic leadership and a love of supporting and developing your team to ensure their personal and professional aspirations are met.BenefitsThis position offers a competitive salary, salary packaging benefits, a 35 hour work week and the option to accrue an RDO and additional leave days to recognise NAIDOC and Sorry Day.Aboriginality and/or understanding of the importance of cultural connections for Aboriginal children, young people, families, and communities is highly desirable for this role as is a previous understanding of the NSW child protection system.You should note the following before applying for this role:Successful applicants will be required to provide a current Police Check and a Working With Children Check before commencement Position Description AUD Australia - NSW Sydney CBD, Inner West & Eastern Suburbs Marrickville 2204
