About the OrganisationSalvation Army Housing Victoria (SAHV) are a community housing organisation providing homes for individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, are on low incomes and those with specific support needs. SAHV run a range of programs which include Long Term, Transition Housing Management, Crisis Housing and rooming house properties. The team have an exciting permanent full-time opportunity for a Housing Manager to join their Blackburn Office, with hybrid working arrangements.The RoleThe Property Manager for SAHV will be responsible for tenancy and property management in line with the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA), whilst ensuring awareness of tenant and landlord roles and responsibilities and ensuring at all times the managed properties are of good standard. You will be responsible for:Ensuring that tenancies within the portfolio are managed and maintained, leases are up to date, properties are inspected and reviewed, and rent reviews are managedKeeping tenant records accurate and up to date in the company softwareMaintaining data for all tenants in accordance with timelines, standards and proceduresAddressing high risk situations involving tenants within required time frames, as per policy and procedureProviding assistance to assess tenant issues, needs and circumstancesDeveloping strategies to address tenant needs within relevant policy and procedure and Residential Tenancy Act (RTA) guidelinesTo be successful in this role, you'll have:A client centric approachA committed work attitude, the ability to follow direction and have a high level of self-direction and accountabilityAn empathetic approach focused on tenant wellbeing and tenancy sustainmentExperience working with internal and external stakeholders, support agencies and community groups to encourage community participation and improve outcomes for tenants - highly desirableExperience working with complex issues involving individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and coming from domestic violence - highly desirableEssential CriteriaExperience in tenancy/property management or social housingGood knowledge and understanding of the Residential Tenancy Act and/or community housing guidelinesHighly skilled administrator and Data record keepingIntermediate skills in the Microsoft Office suiteCurrent driver's licencePersonally, you will demonstrate commitment to work within The Salvation Army’s mission and values, resilience, adaptability and responsiveness.TSA offers an enjoyable work environment, a supportive management, strong opportunities for career development and generous salary packaging opportunities.You must also be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and be willing to undergo a police check and Working With Children Check.  AUD Australia - VIC Melbourne - All locations Eastern Suburbs Blackburn 3130
