We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Tenancy Officer, focused on supporting tenants in their journey toward stable and fulfilling living situations.Primary Purpose Birribee’s Tenancy Officer will be responsible for managing and overseeing various aspects of rental properties or tenancies within a Birribee housing project at Moree. The primary focus of this role is to ensure a positive and stable living environment for tenants, providing support, referrals, and assistance to tenants facing challenges related to mental health, trauma, or emotional well-being. They may work closely with social workers, counselors, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to tenant support. The purpose is to help all tenants sustain their tenancy and ultimately improve their lives.To do this, you must have:Knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act and/or community housing guidelinesExperience working with internal and external stakeholders, support agencies and community groups to encourage community participation and improve outcomes for tenantsExperience working with individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness Desirable SkillsCertificate IV in Social Housing and/or relevant experience in real estate or tenancy managementproven ability to self-motivate and work independently to meet performance targetsexperience working with complex clients and people in crisisproven success working in teams and collaborating with others to improve outcomes for clientsproven commitment to maintaining records, reporting and expert use of CRM or other computer system, preferably in a tenancy management environmentproven success meeting financial and performance expectations including rent arrears, inspections and void and vacancy targetsExperience working with the community and / or a strong knowledge of Aboriginal culture is highly desirable To be successful in this role, you must also be willing to undergo a police check and obtain a Working with Children CheckIf you believe you have the skills and experience to be successful in this role, and want to be part of a team linking people to better futures, submit your resume and a cover letter addressing the selection criteria outlined above.
